5 Ways to Eat MORE Veggies for Weight Loss!

Recently many of my clients have been struggling to get in enough veggies throughout the day, and have been turning to more processed foods. Veggies are SO important for fit babe weight loss because they are low in calories and filled with fiber to boost your metabolism.

Here are 5 FUN and delicious ways to get in more veggies to help you lose weight!

whip up a sizzling stir fry!

Ain’t nobody got time to always go to the grocery store and eat fresh produce at every single meal… right!? A kitchen staple for me is buying frozen veggies so I can always whip up a sizzling stir fry on my stove top. Whether I make a turkey burger on an English muffin for dinner and sauté a side of broccoli in my favorite BBQ sauce OR I decide to make an Asian-inspired meal with chicken, frozen Asian-inspired veggies, brown rice and soy sauce… frozen veggies are always a go-to for fit babe weight loss.

HAVE THEM AS A SNACK

Chips are delicious for a snack, but what about carrot chips or cucumbers? By eating veggies as part of your snacks you will keep the calories low to prevent overeating and help you hit your daily veggie needs for the day so you can lose the weight!

put em in a smoothie!

One of the best tips I give my coaching clients is making fit babe weight loss smoothies! I recommend putting in veggies like spinach, kale or even frozen cauliflower rice into your next smoothie to boost up it’s nutrition and get those weight loss benefits! Plus, if you struggle to eat enough veggies because you don’t like the flavor or texture of them, adding a handful of spinach to your normal smoothie recipe won’t change the flavor one bit!

make them into noodles

Not saying spiraled veggies will ever be pasta… but turning zucchini, sweet potatoes, carrots or beets into noodles to replace regular pasta at meals is an easy way to pack in veggies and get you fuller off of less calories. My personal favorite is buying zucchini noodles (zoodles) and having them as a side dish with my meal (in replacement of my usual salad) with some olive oil and parmesan cheese!

put them in the oven!

Veggies do NOT have to taste boring or bland. Whether you choose asparagus, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower or broccoli… why not make them taste delicious? I love making sheet pan veggies when I’m tight on time. You literally put them in the oven with whatever seasonings and toppings you enjoy, and while they cook you can do the dishes and get the rest of your dinner ready. It’s that simple so no excuses to why you can’t make it happen!
